KSCR Serials keeps data collection to the minimum needed to run a serial-fiction desk.
The short version
You do not need an account to read on KSCR Serials. There is no sign-up, no newsletter list, and no reader profile built on the server. Most of what you adjust on the site stays on your device.
What stays in your browser
Reading settings and the list of books you have opened are stored in your own browser using local storage. This covers text size, line spacing, theme, and the shelf or reading progress that shows which parts you have started.
- These items are saved only on your device.
- They are never sent to our server.
- Clearing your browser data removes them. The shelf and settings will reset.
What the server sees
Like most websites, the server keeps standard logs: IP address, browser and user agent, pages requested, referring page, and time of the request. We use these for security and to keep the site running. They are retained for a limited period, then discarded.
We also keep aggregated, non-identifying visit statistics. These numbers tell the desk which parts are read and when traffic spikes, without tying activity to a person.
Clicks to the official app
When a visitor clicks through to the official app, we record the click in aggregate only: country and device type. This helps us learn which books are useful to readers. Once you leave the site, the official app's own privacy policy applies.
Reader codes and copying
Copying a reader code happens locally in your browser. The code is placed on your clipboard by your device, not sent to us.
What we do not do
- No advertising profiles.
- No selling of personal data.
- No accounts and no sign-up.
Children
KSCR Serials is not directed at children under 13, or under the local age of digital consent where that is higher. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, write to the desk and we will remove it.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, or deletion of, data linked to you. Send a request to the desk by email and we will respond within a reasonable period.
