The story
Lauren West has been married to David for five years, and their life together looks comfortable and settled. But when David returns from a two-month business trip, he pushes her away in bed, and the faint smell of cigarette smoke on him stirs a suspicion she cannot ignore.
Digging into his phone, Lauren finds a hidden account and a group chat full of boasts, along with messages from Chloe Parker, a summer intern at their company who calls David her support. Lauren keeps her discovery to herself, watching the man who once courted her at the United States Jewelry Convention.
David thinks his fun costs him nothing. Lauren has other plans.
