The story
A mother once jumped from a third-floor balcony to escape a fire her young son Lamont accidentally started, breaking her leg. Years later, after Lamont served three years in prison for stabbing men who harassed her, she left the country so he would stop hurting others on her behalf, handing him the company. Now Lamont is the richest man in the area, and he brings her back by private jet for his wedding to Juliet Shaw.
Opening
My little son Lamont Hayden, being playful and mischievous, caused a fire accidentally while playing at home.
I tied the bedsheet around him and lowered him down from the balcony.
As for me, before the fire could engulf everything, I chose to jump from the third floor.
I survived but broke a leg.
Lamont knelt by my hospital bed in tears, swearing that he would never let me get hurt again.
My husband, drunk, called me a cripple.
