The story
Elliot Ward needs paper to print his team's 300-page proposal for the 200-million-dollar Gyrfalcon Project, due by six that evening. At the administrative office, Lydia Reed refuses him, citing a rule that staff must bring their own paper, even as boxes of A4 sit stacked behind her. She calls him a low-level manager unworthy of company resources.
Elliot turns to CEO Dominic Thorne, who backs the rule and tells him to solve it himself. Thirteen miles from the nearest print shop, with his team waiting and the deadline closing in, Elliot calls Harvey Cross of Deltis Group and withdraws the bid. Lydia erupts, ordering him to take it back.
But Elliot knows his projects have always been credited to the CEO's brother-in-law, and that Dominic wanted the Gyrfalcon Project for Grant Sterling. This time, he will not be the one to bend.
Opening
However, the administrative employee, Lydia Reed, slaps on an arrogant expression.
"In order to prevent bottom feeders like you from taking advantage of the company by stealing the company's resources, the company's rulebook has already stated that you must bring your own paper to work!"
I just point at the pile of boxes containing A4 paper behind Lydia before asking coldly, "Then who are those resources meant for?"
