The story
Mia Lane's five-year-old daughter, Aimee, has been battling a severe illness for months, and only a blood transfusion from her father, Logan Wesley, might save her. But Logan is nowhere to be found. He is with Louisa Queen, the woman he has been seeing behind Mia's back, and he refuses every call for help, choosing his affair over his dying child.
At the hospital, staff demand a direct family member to authorize treatment, yet Logan will not come. His cousin Ryan Wesley pleads and rages on the phone, only to be blocked. As Aimee slips away, Mia is left alone with empty promises, a stranger's kindness, and a divorce lawyer's card.
When Logan finally appears at Aimee's burial, he accuses Mia of staging a trick to win him back, searching wildly for the daughter he abandoned.
