The story
Paige is meant to marry Hudson tomorrow, but her world starts glitching with scrolling bullet comments only she can see. The comments name her the Venomous Second Lead and warn that Hudson turned into a dog to escape the wedding, and that in one week she will die falling from a skyscraper. When her parents bring her a Samoyed that glares at her with pure loathing, she realises the dog is Hudson.
She snatches him and drives to a vet, determined to have him neutered at once. The comments riot over whether she will really do it, while Hudson snarls, bites and howls for rescue. Paige pays fifteen thousand dollars to force an emergency surgery, and as the sedative takes hold, Hudson stares at her in disbelief.
Just as the doctor raises the scalpel, the clinic door slams open.
Opening
But instead of final fittings or rehearsing vows, my world started glitching. Strange, translucent lines of text—scrolling "bullet comments"—began drifting across my vision like a live social media feed only I could see.
The comments called me the "Venomous Second Lead." They said Hudson was so desperate to escape our marriage that he’d literally turned into a dog.
Even worse, they mentioned that in exactly one week, I’d be dead, having fallen from the roof of a skyscraper.
I was still reeling, staring at the empty air, when my parents burst into my room.
