The story
After four years as Rowan's partner and Luna of the wolf pack, Clara has decided to leave. She asks Mei to reserve her a place with a caravan heading for the coast, where another wolf pack has agreed to take her in if she serves as a guide through the mountain paths. Twelve days remain for her to hand over her duties and say farewell.
Rowan does not notice. He thinks she is merely tired and finally resting, while he turns his attention to Lydia, his first love, who lost her husband and came to seek refuge with her people. Clara remembers the night she heard his voice behind Lydia's half-open door, and she no longer waits for him.
Her luggage is packed, her fare paid, and she has refused his touch for the first time. Before she crosses the mountain pass, she intends to tell him herself that their partnership is over.
Opening
"May, I'm leaving Rowan. I'm going to join the caravans on the coast. Please reserve a place for me."
I placed the leather bag containing my travel expenses in front of her.
After four years as Rowan's partner, I finally decided to leave this territory and end the relationship.
