The story
When her husband Julian's affair with Emily goes viral, he brings Claire divorce papers and asks her to cooperate, insisting the split is temporary so the woman he loves won't break under public pressure. In her past life, Claire screamed and fought, and lost everything. This time she signs without argument, and Julian mistakes her silence for obedience.
At a press conference, Julian shields Emily and publicly claims his marriage to Claire was already over, leaving Claire to face the reporters alone. Emily's mocking glance and Julian's promise to remarry her once the scandal passes reveal how little he values the wife he chose to sacrifice.
But Claire never intends to go back, and she knows Julian's methods all too well.
