I didn't rush to explain the truth in the group. Instead, I quickly told my friend about my new discovery.
"Grace and Marcus must have started their affair after I hit that dog."
With this information, my friend reviewed the timeline from the private investigator with me, mapping out when Marcus had cheated.
March 10, 2025: Marcus first met Grace.
June 23: Grace claimed her water heater was broken and came upstairs to shower at our place while I wasn't home.
August 15: The two entered a hotel one after the other.
Until today—nearly seven months. They'd met 53 times. Marcus had spent two million dollars on her from our joint account.
The condo my parents had given me before marriage had become their secret meeting place.
My hands wouldn't stop shaking with rage.
Sharon's messages kept flooding the group.
"This Serena loves playing the victim with her fake innocent act. Having her as a neighbor has been such bad luck!"
"Good thing you parents with kids haven't gotten too close to her, or when your kids cry at night, she might fabricate some story about having a heart condition and claim your crying child triggered an attack!"
"Not like me—I raised my daughter for twenty years. She's sweet and well-behaved, blushing even at the sight of people kissing, yet she has to listen to this woman screaming upstairs every night!"
"If she corrupts my innocent daughter, I won't want to live anymore!"
The word "innocent" was particularly jarring.
I directly posted a screenshot from the home surveillance to the group. In the frame, Marcus was holding a woman while sleeping.
But because the image was blurry, Sharon couldn't recognize it was Grace and immediately started cursing at me.
"Serena, you really have no shame! Why are you posting pictures of you and your husband sleeping in the group?!"
"Don't you know there might be minors in this chat?!"
I posted a video from the highway to explain: "I'm on the highway. I'll be home in forty minutes. The surveillance is live. How many times do I have to say—the woman making those sounds in my home is NOT me!"
Seeing my anger, people in the group started urging Sharon to back off, saying it might really be a misunderstanding.
But Sharon kept insisting.
"With Serena's fake innocent act, if I'd really wronged her, she would've been crying and calling the police by now!"
"I'm not trying to be aggressive. As long as she promises not to be so loud in the future and compensates my daughter three hundred thousand for emotional distress, we'll let this go."
Reading the message, I couldn't help but laugh coldly.
No wonder she was making such a big deal today—she thought she'd caught me in the wrong and wanted to force me to pay up!
She'd demanded a hundred thousand during renovations, two hundred thousand when I hit the dog.
She called me a pampered wife living off my husband, yet all she thought about was my money.
I could no longer contain my fury. I sent a voice message to the group: "Sharon, not only is the woman upstairs not me, but even if she were, what you're doing right now is extortion!"
Sharon fired back.
"I'm slandering you? Your voice is already hoarse from screaming, and you're still denying it!"
"Just tell me—are you going to pay the emotional distress compensation or not!"
I replied directly: "I know you're jealous of my money, but I earned it through hard work. I'd rather donate it all than give you a single cent for slandering me. And this time, I'm also a victim!"
"Bullshit! My daughter is the victim! Since you won't take what I'm offering, don't blame me for getting justice for my daughter!"
