One Way

At eighteen, Clara fell for Adrian. At twenty-two, she moved to the city for him. Eight years later, she overheard him tell his friends he never planned to marry her. That night she packed her bags, asked if he would marry her, and left when he said no. Three years pass without contact. When Clara returns to the city, everyone assumes she has come to win Adrian back before his engagement to Sophia. But Clara is planning her own wedding, and the invitations have already gone out. Adrian's friends still bet on how long she will last, certain she cannot let go of eight years. Clara knows the truth: she was the one who walked away, and she is not coming back.
