The story
When Chloe Vance married Brandon Hayes, his friends bet on how long she would last. Her parents had traded her away for a fifteen-million-dollar injection that saved the family business, so Brandon's circle saw her as the ultimate pushover. For three years she quietly cleaned up his scandals, paying off paparazzi and starlets while he sneered that she was an overpriced maid.
Then Brandon's first love, Hannah Collins, returns to the country, and Brandon goes to meet her at the airport. Chloe sells the story to a tabloid, and by morning the affair is trending everywhere. Victoria Hayes summons the family for a portrait to bury the gossip, while Brandon's friends cheer the reunion and ask when he will finally divorce her. Chloe asks her lawyer to draft the papers and wants forty percent of his net worth.
At the estate, Victoria rages at Brandon over Hannah, and Chloe calmly says she will not clean up this mess. Brandon's expression sours as his wife stops playing the pushover.
