The Rejected Luna Makes A Spectacular Comeback

Today was our first anniversary. I stood outside in the freezing rain, holding a gift that cost me three months of savings, hoping to finally win a sliver of my mate's respect.

But through the window, I heard his best friend laughing.

"Damien, are you really going to keep that wolfless little thing in your bed forever? She's just a shield for Annelise."

When Damien finally came out, he didn't even look at my gift. Instead, he handed it directly to Annelise to "warm her hands" while his friends smirked.

That night, he tossed a rejection document on my table.

"I, Damien Thornton, propose to reject you, Kira Hayes, as my mate."

He offered a lump sum of cash to buy my dignity. And when the formal rejection ritual came the next day, he didn't even bother to show up, leaving me standing alone in the hall to be mocked by the entire pack.

The humiliation drowned me. Every act of submission over the past year was a giant joke. The "fated mate" bond I believed in was nothing but a cruel lie meant to exploit me.

I was done being patient.

Without waiting for his permission, I unilaterally severed our soul-binding connection, ignoring the agonizing pain, and left the territory with just a backpack.

Three years later, I returned—not as his rejected, wolfless mate, but as a top-tier surgeon and the cherished daughter of a rival Pack.
