Part 3The Ugly King and the Beauty Queen

On the way back to the dorms in Liam's car, I looked at the Rolls-Royce's starlight headliner, then at him.

Yep, he was definitely the better view.

"Why are you staring at me?"

"Because you're good-looking."

As soon as the words left my mouth, Liam's expression turned strange.

"Sarah, for the sake of us being classmates, I helped you out today. Don't push your luck."

What? Was he regretting it?

I panicked. "I'm not joking! I really want you to be my boyfriend. Please, date me! I'm willing to ride in luxury cars and live in mansions if it means being with you!"

Liam laughed in exasperation.

After a moment, he asked, "You really think I'm good-looking?"

I nodded furiously. Anyone with eyes could see that!

If I wasn't afraid of scaring him off, I wouldn't even be going back to the dorms tonight.

He smiled almost imperceptibly.

"Since you're my girlfriend, you can't be involved with Chad anymore."

I agreed instantly.

I can't believe such good luck fell into my lap.

When we arrived at my dorm, I lingered in the car.

"Is there something else?" Liam asked.

I twiddled my fingers, glanced shyly at the driver, and whispered, "Shouldn't couples do something before parting?"

He raised an eyebrow. The driver tactfully exited the vehicle.

A few minutes later, I walked into the dorm building with swollen lips.

In the car, Liam watched my retreating figure.

"Sarah... you better not be lying to me."
