The story
Elena Sterling is the black sheep of her industry's CEOs. While other companies treat interns as disposable labor, she fights her board to fund a paid program with one-on-one mentorship, housing stipends, health insurance and reimbursed late-night rides. The thirty-seven interns thrive, and she plans to expand the initiative.
Then a heavily edited audio clip of her executive meeting goes viral, painting her as a tyrant who fattens interns up to exploit them. Overnight, public opinion turns; even those she helped become her fiercest enemies, and the office walls are spray-painted with accusations. The leak came from inside, from the few who had access to the raw recording.
Standing in the conference room, Elena opens a file no one expected her to have, and the room falls silent.
