The story
Hannah Neate despises having her picture taken. She bans cameras from her company's press conference, and after three years of marriage she and her husband, Lucas Bourne, still have no wedding photo. She calls photography a waste of time and energy.
Then Lucas finds a photo-booth picture of Hannah nestled close to another man, displayed as a couple's template at the mall. When he tears it down and throws his wedding ring on top, Hannah barely looks up. The man in the photo is Dwade Farley, her assistant, who barges in and claims he only dragged her along as a big sister. Hannah orders Lucas to apologize, then tells Dwade the ring is not a wedding ring and gives it to him to wear.
Lucas walks out. A new ring arrives that evening; he throws it away. Dwade's posts show Hannah photographed again and again, and a message from her phone brings a live photo Lucas cannot unsee. For a man she once let no one photograph, she has made an exception.
Opening
Hannah Neate hated having her picture taken more than anything.
When her company held a press conference, she forbade any reporter from bringing a camera inside.
I had been married to her for three years, but we never had a single wedding photo.
She had an effortlessly frigid personality and would not waste her time getting her photo taken. She believed that it was a poor use of energy and time.
One day, I saw a photo of her and a man in a photo booth at the mall. It was displayed as a couple’s photo template at the center of the wall.
