On the birthday of my boyfriend, Max Wood, I was drugged and passed out.

When I woke up, I found that I was blind and could no longer see the world.

Max hugged me and apologized to me, saying that he was sorry for not protecting me and that he would treat me well.

But he couldn't hear the voice of the system in my mind. The system said, "Master, I've sent the video of last night to you. Do you want to watch it now?"

"The patient in bed five is in stable condition. Be careful not to irritate her." I heard the conversation happening at the door and smelt a strong smell of disinfectant.

I frowned and opened my eyes, but all I saw was darkness. I rubbed my eyes but still couldn't see anything.

"What's going on?"

I remembered that I had just attended a fashion show and rushed to Max's birthday party. "Then, what happened?" I tried to recall it, but my head hurt.

The person outside the door noticed I was awake and walked towards me quickly. I subconsciously shrank back. The person seemed distressed.

"Winnie, you finally woke up. I'm sorry."

I was hugged and smelt Max's unique perfume.

"It's all my fault that I failed to protect you." Max choked out, and his palm was rubbing my back.

My blind eyes made my other senses become more sensitive. I was nervous and intuitively felt that Max let me be in danger.

"Why am I bind?" I twisted my body slightly to distance myself from Max. Being imprisoned made me uncomfortable.

Noticing my movement, Max was sad. He trembled. "You had a car accident on the way to attending my birthday party..."

I got an electric shock on my face. Max was touching my face. "It's my fault. I'm sorry for not keeping you safe."

"Don't be afraid. I will face it with you no matter what. We will get married soon."

Max was afraid that I would go back on my word, so he announced our marriage to the reporters in the morning.

But at this moment, my health was obviously the most important.

I sneered, but I asked him with sobs, "Max, what did the doctor said about my eyes?"

"The doctor said that the car accident caused blood clots in both eyes, and you may not be restored." Max kissed my forehead, and his tone was extremely gentle and compassionate.

"I'll get through this with you, and we'll get married after you are discharged from the hospital."

I couldn't see his face, but I could imagine his affectionate eyes.

"Ding!"

The system said, "Master, I've sent the video of last night to you. I also discovered that you recently underwent an abnormal surgical operation."

I freed myself from Max's arms and waved my hand to motion for him to leave. "Let me be alone for a while."

Max fixed the hair on my forehead and gave me a gentle kiss.

"Okay, I'll wait for you outside. Call me if you need my help."

The nurse who came in happened to see this scene. After changing the medicinal liquid, she sighed, "Mr. Wood is gentle and considerate."

"Is he considerate?"

I began to recall the things after the fashion show. Last night, I was driving on an overpass. It was raining heavily. The owner of a car on the opposite side switched on the high beams. Then, everything I saw was white, and both I and the car overturned quickly.

Afterward, someone called an ambulance, and I was sent to the nearest hospital, which was the Wood family's hospital. At the same time, Yana Combs, who was Max's lover and suffering from renal failure, was in surgery.

I lifted up my clothes and saw a thin scar on my lower abdomen. It was obvious that the doctor had a good skill.

I sneered. "Max, you've gone too far."
