The story
Jade Castor has loved Eugene Fort since childhood, but their marriage is only a bargain: he gives her the title of wife while she stays on standby as a bone marrow donor for his true love, Ivy Green. When her father lies dying and asks to see Eugene one last time, Jade hurries to his company to beg for help.
Eugene's secretary, Michael Lowry, bars her way, quoting a rule that Mrs. Fort and dogs are not allowed entry. Kneeling outside, Jade is filmed and mocked online, while Eugene carries Ivy into his car. Her father dies without seeing him, and Jade handles the funeral alone.
Then Eugene finally calls, not to grieve with her, but to summon her to the hospital for Ivy. Her love turns to ashes as the mockery spreads.
Opening
I hurry to his company to look for him, but his secretary stops me and tells me there's a company policy that says they don't allow me and dogs to enter.
I kneel before the building and beg for help, but someone records me and twists the truth. Later, I watch the video and see Eugene Fort carrying his true love, who's cut her finger, into the car.
