The story
Harper has loved Cameron for a decade, so when he arrives at her family's Thanksgiving dinner holding hands with her older sister, Roxy, the betrayal cuts deep. Cornered by Roxy's pointed question about the boyfriend she was supposed to bring, Harper blurts out that he is dead.
Her mother, a woman of uncompromising action, insists the family visit his grave that very night. Harper has no grave, only a last name her parents remember and a desperate plea posted to a local forum. As Cameron sits rigidly in the car beside Roxy, Harper spins a story of cancer and dead parents, while her stepsister's sympathy tightens like a trap.
One stranger's reply may be the only thing standing between Harper and the truth.
