The story
After clearing the final dungeon, Leona Pruitt is left bleeding with a single point of HP while her boyfriend Arthur Simmons and best friend Elena Delgado split the rewards and walk away together. Every healing item sits in Elena's bag, and neither of them looks back. So Leona uses the time-rewind item the last boss gave her, sending the whole party back to the game's starting stage at the cost of half of every player's talent points.
Now they are trapped on the inescapable island with three players, seven days to survive, and Arthur and Elena stripped of the strength they built their lives on. They rage at Leona for dragging them back into hell, but her own agility is untouched, and the two of them are already trading the same sly glance they once traded in the mirror stage.
Two months passed before the restart, and neither of them noticed she was gone. Leona has one question for them: who exactly is this we?
Opening
After clearing the last dungeon of the horror game, everyone let out a breath.
It meant we'd never have to claw our way out of death again. We could go back to normal lives.
The pillar of light for completing the level had barely appeared when my boyfriend and my best friend rushed for the rewards in perfect step.
My boyfriend said, "Lea, I'm grabbing the treasure chest this time for sure. Don't worry, all the rewards are yours."
