The story
Halle Dolton has spent three years chasing Terence Bacchus, the leader of Wildlife Conservation Team A in Tanzania, only to watch him tie a love knot with someone else. They first met when he saved her from a poacher's gun and she treated his wound; she was a doctor sent from Washington, and he was the man she built a dream of love around.
That dream shatters when Terence, gravely wounded, insists on giving his blood to Darlene Benson, the deputy leader of Zone A, and turns on Halle with cold fury for refusing. Tired of loving a man who never wanted her, Halle asks Captain Cedric Howell to sign off on her transfer back to Washington, leaving Terence behind in two weeks.
Yet as she prepares to go, the man who always retreated begins to hold on, and Halle must decide what his unwillingness to let her leave truly means.
Opening
Halle Dolton had chased after Terence Bacchus for three years, only to end up tying a love knot for him and someone else.
The first time they met, the winds were fierce in Tanzania. He saved her from a poacher’s gun. She treated his gunshot wound.
“Don’t be scared, I’m the leader of Wildlife Conservation Team A,” he said.
“Don’t worry, I’m Halle Dolton, a doctor sent from Washington to aid Tanzania,” she replied.
Those were the first words they exchanged.
But the dream of love Halle had built was shattered by Terence himself.
