From Jilted Bride to Stepmother

At her wedding, Samantha Kingston reaches out for the ring, but her fiancé Ryan Carter slides it onto the finger of Jessica Miller, her father's mistress's daughter. He tells her the Carter Corp. listing means he needs the Miller heiress, not her. Her mother dies of a heart attack amid the whispers. Five years later, Ryan returns home with Jessica and their son Leo, and finds Samantha making soup in his kitchen. He tries to drag her out, but his aunt Carol stops him, calling Samantha his stepmother. Samantha is in fact the wife of Arthur Kingston, Ryan's foster father, and Carol defends her fiercely. When Jessica manipulates the scene and Leo knocks Samantha down, a terrifying bleeding begins, and Samantha begs for her baby's life. Ryan and Jessica dismiss it as a trick, while Carol rushes to save her.
