The story
When a neighbour's Doberman attacks his son Ethan, Silas grabs a kitchen knife and wounds the dog to save the boy. Ethan was born with a congenital heart condition, so any shock could be fatal, and the neighbour, Andrew Livington, shows no remorse — he applauds the attack and later demands a million dollars for his injured pet.
A crowd gathers and turns on Silas, while Andrew's story grows stranger. Then Silas's wife, Crystal Warburton, returns, and Andrew runs to her calling her "babe." Ethan is struck down when he tries to pull her away, and as the boy's heart gives out, Crystal hesitates to hand over the car keys, more worried about Andrew's dog than her own son.
Three days after Silas finally gets Ethan to the hospital, the police arrive with a warrant, and his pleas to settle his child first are refused. Then his best friend, Jeremy Highland, appears, asking whether this is police brutality.
Opening
Meanwhile, a message popped up in a group chat for the apartment building’s residents.
“Silas, does your son even have a heart? He won’t even play with my girl.”
I froze, recalling that the neighbor didn’t have a child.
The next second, the neighbor sent a video.
The footage showed a vicious Doberman lunging toward me to attack Ethan.
It was bad enough that the neighbor didn’t stop the attack, but he even stood there, applauding.
“Good girl. You’re amazing. You’ve got a big boy crying already.
