The story
The System has wiped every trace of Camellia from her fiancé Declan’s memory, so he can fall for the predestined female lead, Olivia. Camellia laughs: she only reached Declan’s bed through blackmail, and he has always loathed her. When the System offers to purge him, she agrees at once, glad to be free of a marriage he never wanted.
She leaves the city and flies to Europe, but on a cobblestone street in Florence she runs into Declan. His eyes lock on hers, a furious blush climbs his neck, and he clutches his chest, breathless, asking who she is and whether they can get to know each other. Camellia is certain his broken brain has mistaken rage for love at first sight.
Back home, Olivia is parachuted into an executive role at the Sinclair conglomerate, and Declan keeps his distance from Camellia. Then one Tuesday afternoon he bursts through the doors, frantic, and finds her walking the dog in the courtyard.
Opening
The System wiped every trace of me from my fiancé Declan’s memory, all to ensure he would effortlessly fall for the predestined female lead.
I couldn't help but laugh out loud.
What the System completely failed to realize was that I had manipulated my way into his bed. Declan actually loathed the very ground I walked on.
Once he and the female lead made their relationship official, I packed my bags, left the city behind, and flew across the globe to Europe.
