Husband's Obsession with Money

Bella Collins has woken up in the first month of her marriage to Kyler Ross, a financial officer whose thrift rules their home. In her previous life she surrendered her payroll card, lived frugally, and died of stomach cancer while he buried her ashes in overgrown grass and remarried on their savings. Now he kneels and swears he only loves her, begging for the card again.

She refuses, and the arguments begin: the washing machine wastes water, a durian is spoiled, a bucket of popcorn costs 1.6 dollars. Kyler weeps about his poor childhood and his father carrying bricks, then curses her parents. Bella smashes the popcorn on his head and demands to know where his own money goes.

When his mother Dora arrives for a check-up, Kyler's famous filial piety collapses at a 160-dollar bill, and he accuses the nurse of taking kickbacks. Bella watches, remembering the emergency he once refused to pay for.
