The story
After a doctor confirms her pregnancy, Eliza Lockett asks a lawyer to draft a divorce agreement. When the lawyer says her husband must appear in person, she calls Alban Sidham, who cuts her off coldly while a woman's teasing voice sounds in the background. The lawyer finally nods, and Eliza signs.
At home, the maids pity her, certain she adores a man who is always ice-cold to her and spends his days with Davina Buckley. They do not know the truth: the man in the photograph she polishes is not Alban but his identical twin, Kyran Sidham, whom she loved in college until he died in an accident. She married Alban only for his face, wanting a child who looks like Kyran.
Alban believes she loves him desperately, never guessing that every object she asks for once belonged to his brother. Now that she is pregnant, she has what she came for, and it is time to leave.

"He agrees to the divorce," she said evenly. "He's just busy with work and can't come. If you don't believe me, I'll call him now and let you hear it yourself."
She took out her phone and dialed Alban Sidham.
"Alban, there's something I need to talk to you about—"
