The story
After being strangled to death by the two men she once loved, Hannah wakes on the very day her childhood friend Ben Brown and her fiancé David Wright were drugged. This time she refuses to be drawn into their chaos: she fights free, lets Karen Miller take her place, and ends the engagement and her family's ties to both men.
As the village gossips about Karen marrying both Ben and David, Hannah turns to the future she once abandoned. Her appointment letter for the Northwest has arrived, and she spends her savings on supplies for the journey, determined to serve her country rather than sacrifice herself for men who never loved her.
But David and Karen are not finished with her, and their accusations follow her into the streets.
Opening
In my previous life, both my childhood friend, once a captain, and my educated fiancé courted me. I had feelings for both.
But while I was still struggling to decide who I wanted as my husband, both accidentally ingested something.
In a dazed state, I spent a chaotic night.
After that, my parents asked one of the men to marry me.
