I Was Always Behind The Camera While She Stood Beside Him is a city serial in English. Parts 1–3 are printed here in full; the story continues from Part 4 in the official app.
The story
For five years, Lily Bennett has waited for her boyfriend Adrian Cole to keep one promise: a trip to Sedona to watch the moon on Harvest Moon weekend. Every year he cancels for his best friend Vanessa Reed, choosing camping in Joshua Tree, a meteor shower in Death Valley, or a moonrise over the ocean with Ethan Blake and Noah Carter. This year Lily cancels the flights and keeps only one ticket.
Vanessa's belongings fill their home, her cat Milo becomes Lily's duty, and Lily is left behind the camera while Vanessa stands beside Adrian in every photo. When Lily asks for a picture with just her boyfriend, Adrian accuses her of irrational possessiveness, and Vanessa's tears turn the group against her.
As her mother's surgery approaches, Lily begins to ask what life without Adrian might look like.
