The story
For two years, Chloe has endured Julian Sterling's cruelty in a bid to win him over, even as he believes she torments his childhood sweetheart, Maya. When his abuse lands her in a hospital bed, the System grants her one final chance: a new target, Silas Sterling, the 27-year-old CEO and dictator of the Sterling Group, with the mission postponed until after her college entrance exams.
Back at school, Chloe stops chasing Julian, even bringing a cake to thank the class president who found her unconscious. Julian retaliates, smashing the gift and threatening her, convinced she is playing hard to get. At the graduation gala, where Silas is expected, Julian corners her in the dressing room with a baseball bat, demanding to know if the rumors are true.
Chloe's answer is simple: yes.
Opening
I spent two years desperately trying to win over Julian—only for him to mistakenly believe I was bullying his precious childhood sweetheart.
He smiled as he crushed his cigarette out on the palm of my hand.
Later, while I was on my period, he pushed me into the freezing swimming pool, holding my head underwater so I couldn't breathe.
Finally, the System allowed me to change my target.
I stopped paying any attention to Julian.
