The story
The night the Famiglia is attacked, Luca Gambino leaves his wounded fiancée Elena Pasquini bleeding in an alley to escort Carmela, who has only a graze, to safety. He tells Elena that as his future Donna she must put Famiglia loyalty first. She tears off the necklace marking her status and throws it into the pool of blood beneath her, and is found only three hours later.
Waking in hospital, Elena learns no one visited her. She discharges herself and returns to Gambino Manor, where Luca accuses her of wasting the Famiglia's resources and lying about her coordinates. He insists Carmela, the intelligence team's core, never errs, and refuses to hear Elena's account. Rosa Natale then condemns her as ungrateful, holding up Carmela as the example to follow.
Elena leaves the bank card holding her late father Alfonso Pasquini's compensation on the table, saying this was never her home, and takes a cab to her parents' old house.
Opening
The night the Famiglia is attacked, Luca Gambino abandons me, who is severely wounded, and turns to protect another woman instead.
"Wait here. Carmela was grazed by a stray bullet. I need to get her to safety first."
I press the wound on my stomach, but the bleeding just won't stop. "But I was shot too!"
Luca sighs and says, "Elena Pasquini, you are my fiancee. You need to think of the Famiglia as well.
