The story
Christian is abandoned on a remote island by his fiancée Yvonne Johnson after he is accused of smashing a cup belonging to his adopted brother Harold Shaw. Rachel Chandler, who admires Harold, is the one who suggested the imprisonment, and she leaves him there with no food, no water and no way to call for help. Yvonne refuses to believe his pleas of innocence and tells him he will be freed only once Harold is no longer angry.
Alone among crocodiles and other beasts, Christian fights to survive, haunted by the coldness of the woman he grew up with and by the suspicion that those closest to him want him gone. In a cave he finds a skeleton and a message carved into the wall, a warning of what the island does to those left behind.
Meanwhile Yvonne begins to question what she has been told, while Rachel's malice turns toward the island once more.
Opening
My fiancee tossed me onto a remote island just because I accidentally smashed the cup of my adopted brother.
"Please, let me go home, Yvonne Johnson! There are beasts here! I'll die!"
I kept pleading until my phone was dead. The only response I got was, "I'll let you go after Harold's not angry anymore."
A month later, Harold joked with his friends, "I bet Christian's looking real primitive now. How about we check him out?"
