Nine Years of Love Ended

The night before his wedding to Patty Rush, a man finishes every last detail alone while she claims an urgent project keeps her at the office. By morning she calls to postpone the ceremony by a week so she can be maid of honor at her assistant Ivan Drake's sister's wedding. He agrees calmly, then quietly cancels everything himself, telling parents, friends and the venue. When Patty never answers his message, he sees her smiling as a bridesmaid in a video instead.

Nine years of devotion—five spent pursuing her, four beside her—end in that silence. He returns to the apartment his parents bought, where her walk-in closet and karaoke room have crowded out any space for him, and faces Chamo, the cat he is allergic to but cannot give up.

When he finally calls about the cat, Patty chatters happily about copying Ivan's sister's wedding, then hands the phone to Ivan. Later, at the office, she pulls him toward dinner with Ivan's family, unaware he has just applied for an overseas training program with Chief Drew.
