To take over the family airline, my grandfather insisted I rotate through the flight attendant position for a week.
On my first day, I encountered a man brandishing a Platinum Card and acting like a petty tyrant toward the crew.
“Do you know what this Platinum Card means? It can buy the miserable lives of every single one of you!”
“That bow is too shallow. Is it a bad back or just disrespect? Ninety degrees! Hold it for a hundred minutes!”
“What kind of hogwash are they serving in Economy? I’ll bless you with some premium ingredients!”
I was about to intervene, but the flight attendant next to me quickly stopped me.
“He’s the older brother of our CEO’s personal assistant. In our airline…”
She leaned in conspiratorially and pointed upward.
“You have a chance of survival if you offend our CEO, Ethan Bell. But if you offend his assistant… you’ll be utterly ruined.”
I was stunned into silence, and honestly, a little amused.
I reached for the satellite phone and dialed my grandfather.
“Grandfather, tell the pilot to execute an immediate landing at the nearest airport. When we land, I want to see my divorce certificate from Ethan Bell.”
Today was the first day of my undercover rotation.
I stood at the cabin door, maintaining a standard, professional smile as I welcomed the boarding passengers.
Most passengers were kind and nodded cordially.
Until a man in a bubblegum-pink Chanel tweed suit appeared at the jetway.
He was clutching a shiny Platinum Card, his critical gaze sweeping over me from head to toe.
“New here? That explains the total lack of decorum!”

Following the standard protocol, I offered a slight bow and a professional smile. “Good morning, sir. Welcome aboard.”
That single word, “sir,” was enough to unleash hell.
