Playing Innocent Wont Save You

At the Bishop family's homecoming gala for their long-lost biological daughter Daphne, the adopted daughter Elena is publicly accused of selling corporate secrets to a competitor. Projection screens display supposed evidence, and Daphne, clutching a stuffed rabbit, tearfully pleads on Elena's behalf while planting both guilt and motive. In a previous life, Elena panicked, was stripped of her title, abandoned by her fiancé Connor Shaw, and watched her ailing biological mother die of a heart attack; later, lured to a warehouse by Daphne, she burned to death.

Now she has returned to the ballroom with a voice recorder running. Instead of denying the export, she admits it, then challenges the Chief Information Security Officer Marcus to name the buyer and the payment—neither of which exists. As Daphne fakes a collapse and Connor shields her, Elena presses her advantage, refusing to sign a confession that would brand her a traitor forever.

This time, the innocent act will not bury the truth.
