Secret of the Mango

For five years, a wife has kept mangoes out of her home because her husband Oliver is deathly allergic. Then she finds a freshly gnawed mango pit buried in the kitchen trash, and his hurried story about a maintenance worker does not hold up. A crumpled receipt in his jacket leads her to Molly, a young woman at a subsidiary office, and to a bakery whose mango crepe cake tells its own story.

When she tries to draft a separation agreement on Oliver's desktop, the password turns out to be Molly's name. Inside is a termination notice bearing his signature, accusing her of leaking classified data during the Apex Corporation merger and stripping her of everything, dated for next week.

She is the lead director on the Apex project, and he had urged her to take full control of the final data models. The affair was only part of the trap.
