The story
When Dr. Cody Parker cuts open a female patient's bra to save her life, his fiancée Scarlett Baxter films him pressing on the patient's chest and posts it online. The video goes viral, and the hospital demotes him and strips his annual bonus to quiet the controversy, painting him as a molester despite his efforts to save a life.
Fed up, Cody stops going the extra mile. He follows residency protocol to the letter, refuses emergency rescues, and leaves on time, while the department chief Gabriel Robinson installs his nephew Lewis Robinson as the new attending physician. As critical patients arrive, the ward falls into chaos under Lewis's useless micromanagement.
Cody submits thirty days of accumulated leave, backed by a medical report, and walks away—just as Scarlett appears arm in arm with Lewis, mocking him for running.
Opening
But my fiancee, Scarlett Baxter, uploads a video of me pressing on the patient's chest to the Internet.
"I know you're saving the patient's life, but isn't protecting the patient's privacy important as well? Besides, you keep touching her chest! This makes me feel very uncomfortable!"
This incident goes viral on the Internet. The hospital I work at chooses to de-escalate this matter by demoting me and deducting my annual bonus.
