The story
After she learns of Lydia Wood, Charlotte hands Alex Jensen a divorce agreement. He tears it in half and begs for ten days, promising to send Lydia far away. During those ten days he takes Lydia rafting, climbing, bungee jumping and skydiving, and shares sunrises and prayers with her.
On the ninth night, packing to leave, Charlotte receives a video call from herself ten years earlier. The younger Charlotte, full of hope for her marriage, is shown Alex embracing Lydia below. The older Charlotte warns her not to marry him, then remembers how Alex once knelt for three days in Suncrest to beg a mysterious doctor to heal her crushed legs. The doctor's granddaughter is Lydia.
Alex returns, saying he has sent Lydia away, and the two trade bitter words. A canceled flight keeps Charlotte home. At his grandfather's eightieth birthday party, Lydia runs to Alex, and he comforts her openly, leaving Charlotte to face them both.
Opening
He sat there with his head lowered. After a long moment of hesitation, he tore it in half.
"Please give me ten days. In ten days, I'll send Lydia somewhere far away. She'll never appear in our lives again."
Without waiting for my answer, he got up and left the house.
During those ten days, he took Lydia whitewater rafting, climbed snowy mountains with her, went bungee jumping and skydiving, and shared every thrilling adventure imaginable.
