The story
After six months overseas closing a multi-billion-dollar deal, Waverly returns to the home she shares with Julian, only to find the smart lock rejecting her face and a new security guard pinning her to the ground as a trespasser. The guard knows the lady of the house as Rachel Carter, and the door announces her arrival as Princess Rachel. Inside, the housekeeper, the spicy food, the pink master bedroom and Rachel's makeup in the drawers all belong to another woman's life.
Julian deleted Waverly's face profile to make room for others, let Rachel take the master bedroom, and brushes off her bruise, her allergies and her ruined stomach. Ten years beside him, and the tenderness in his voice has never once been for her.
When her parents arrive from treatment, her father staggers down the stairs toward a room that is no longer his, and Waverly must decide how much of her own home she is willing to keep losing.
Opening

But when I returned to the home I shared with Julian, the smart lock kept repeating: Unauthorized access. Please stay away.
Only after the facial recognition failed ten times did it trigger the automatic alarm.
