The story
For ten years, Ingrid Colson has been the one holding everything together for Jacob Locke: paying his mother Marie Brown's medical bills, funding his sister Lindsay Locke's education, and waiting on a wedding that keeps being postponed. When a small slight finally opens her eyes, she quietly packs her things and walks away.
She cancels the wedding planner, stops the automatic hospital payments, refuses Lindsay's demands for money, and accepts a transfer to a southern city. Jacob's messages go unanswered, and the family that once leaned on her must now face life without her.

After Jacob Locke brings up breaking up with me once again, I don't wait for him to say anything else.
