The story
It is 2:00 AM when Lily wakes in her dorm and finds an urgent alert on her phone: an adult gorilla has escaped the city zoo, and residents are told to lock their doors and windows. Her four roommates are still gaming, screaming at their screens, and Lily, exhausted and fed up, wishes the gorilla would finish them off so she could finally sleep.
By morning the wish has come true. Four roommates are dead, their bodies torn by massive claws, one fallen from the sixth-floor window. The building is sealed off and the school imposes a gag order. Questioned by detectives, Lily admits she heard nothing after 4 AM, though the room next door heard screaming all night. A polygraph confirms she slept through it all.
As she recalls the bullying, the argument, and the hands that choked her unconscious, the police show her CCTV footage that makes her blood run cold.
