The Billionaire Husband Who Faked His Death for His Mistress

Desiree Harding built a following doing free makeup for girls with facial scars, and one message moved her to make an exception: a bride-to-be begging for help on her wedding day. But the bride, Angelica Fox, had no scar at all. The disfigured man she wanted made up was her husband — and his scar matched the one on Desiree's boyfriend, Edgar Simmons, who supposedly died in a plane crash three months earlier. Edgar is alive, marrying Angelica, and he tells Desiree plainly that faking his death was the easiest way to be rid of her. He says Angelica is pregnant and that Desiree's scarred face is why he strayed. His friends, it turns out, all knew. Desiree slaps him, takes a check for the life she once saved, and walks away to fund reconstructive surgery for burned girls. When a cruel post about her goes viral, Edgar offers money instead of an apology — and a hospital call about a child's surgery forces her to accept it, one last time.
