The story
Luna's mother, convinced by Ryan's constant nagging that her daughter is too fat, hands Luna's $500 monthly allowance over to him. Ryan, a top student she trusts, rations it to $10 a week, refuses her an air-conditioned dorm, and demands a report of everything she eats. When Luna objects, her mother sides with Ryan, insisting he means no harm.
Determined to keep her independence, Luna takes a late-night job at a food stall across from a club, where her tips climb and the club's owner, Seth, begins showing up every night. But Ryan's control tightens, and when he spots her in a short dress at a buffet, he accuses her of finding a sugar daddy. Then, in an alley, Luna sees Seth surrounded by thugs and steps in swinging her bag.
Opening
My mom, worried about my spending habits, entrusted my monthly $500 allowance to my childhood friend, Ryan.
But he only gives me $10 a week.
When the summer heat became unbearable, I asked to use my own money to move to a dorm with AC. He flatly refused.
"You're only hot because you're too fat," he sneered. "Eat less, lose weight, and you'll be fine."
On Valentine's Day, I caught him and his bros partying at a bar.
"Yo, Ryan, where's your girl? Still saving yourself for the wifey?"
