The Daughter I Protected After My Husband Betrayed Us

When a stolen watch worth nearly a million dollars disappears, a daughter is accused and her father, Ryan, publicly confesses that she took it. The real thief is Ava, the daughter of Ryan's first love, Victoria, yet Ryan slaps his own child and calls her an embarrassment, insisting that helping Ava is an honor. He warns his wife that speaking the truth would mean perjury, and there are no security cameras to prove otherwise.

As the police are called and the owner demands a kneeling apology, Ryan kneels first, then drags Victoria out to dinner, leaving his wife alone with cigarette after cigarette. Their daughter, already introverted and withdrawn, comes home from school bruised and silent, bullied by Ava and the watch's owner. Ryan's messages to her urge her not to oppose Ava, for Victoria once saved his life.

His wife knows the truth and is determined to find solid evidence to clear her daughter's name, even as her husband seems ready to drain their family dry for another woman's child.
