The story

Sent on a business trip to negotiate a deal, Anson Coleman pinches every penny: the cheapest coach seat, a run-down inn, and 10-dollar takeout meals for the client, Caelum Worthington. The two hit it off, and Caelum whisks him to the city's most exclusive club, dropping 50,000 dollars on the full VIP treatment. Anson submits only his modest meal receipts.

Back at the office, his boss Oscar Richmond hurls the club's 50,000-dollar bill in his face, accusing him of taking kickbacks. The finance director, Lindsey Barinov, calculates that fines and interest leave Anson owing 50,200 dollars, and Richmond threatens prison unless he signs a promissory note and repays it within three days.

Anson holds a freshly signed 200,000,000-dollar contract in his briefcase, its commission alone worth 2,000,000 dollars. He says nothing of it, refusing to pay a cent, and warns Richmond he will regret this day.

Opening

Sticking strictly to the company's meal allowance, I treated the client, Caelum Worthington, to a 10-dollar takeout meal.

I never expected us to hit it off so well that he started calling me "Bro" on the spot.

He took me straight to the most exclusive club in the city and dropped 50,000 dollars on the full VIP treatment.

When I returned to the office, I only submitted a few takeout-meal receipts for reimbursement.
