The story

Victoria has spent half a year perfecting the wedding proposal that lands the company its biggest celebrity client, Samantha. The deal pulls the struggling firm back from the brink, but Victoria collapses from exhaustion and wakes in a hospital bed, where her boss Harrison offers her a free funeral for her parents instead of her commission.

Back at work, Victoria discovers the ten-thousand-dollar commission has gone to Chloe, a new hire who has never planned a single event, and that Harrison and Chloe are secretly a couple. When Chloe snatches Victoria's laptop and exposes her private chats to the office, the coworkers join in the mockery. Victoria records every word and threatens to hand it to the police, then slaps down her resignation.

As she packs her desk, the company's biggest new project sits in Chloe's hands, and Victoria walks out with nothing but her own record of what was done to her.

Opening

That directly turned our struggling company into a huge overnight success.

Right after the wedding ended, I collapsed from days of pulling all-nighters and was carried into the hospital.

On my hospital bed, my boss, Harrison, came to see me personally. His tone was gentle.

"Victoria, I heard your parents aren't in the best health. How about this? We won't give you the commission for that $10,000 wedding contract."

"When your parents pass away in the future, the company will throw you a $20,000 funeral for free. Think of it as a perk."
