The Ghost in the Livestream

Julian takes his wife Sarah and his childhood sweetheart Sophie into an abandoned mental asylum for a horror livestream. When a shadow drags Sarah into the dark, Julian does nothing, watching the viewer count climb. What the audience takes for a vengeful spirit is in truth a deformed beggar, and Julian lets him attack her while the cameras keep rolling.

Sophie arrives to play the savior, and Julian turns the lens on Sarah's torn clothes and bruised body, exposing her to the crowd as the stream hits its peak. She wakes a week later, saved from sepsis, to Julian's thanks for her sacrifice and his plans for Rolling Stone Media. He refuses to call the police, because the truth would destroy Sophie's fairy persona.

As Sophie prepares to film a recap by his hospital bed, Sarah reaches for the phone to report everything herself.
