The story
In the Wade mansion, Luis has grown used to strangers arriving with paternity tests, each claiming to be the family's true heir. Tyler Jones is the sixth this month, and he announces himself with arrogance, waving his results in Luis's face and demanding the life he says was taken from him. The household barely reacts, and Luis, unruffled, simply offers him a guest room.
Tyler's attempts to seize the master bedroom and to win over Luis's parents, Cody Wade and Isabel Stevens, meet the same indifference. The butler Andy Burns and even Luis's friend Chelsea Leverett treat the whole affair as familiar entertainment. As Tyler keeps performing the role of wronged son, Luis watches with quiet amusement, wondering whether this claimant will prove any more interesting than the ones before him.
Opening
The day the real heir came to claim his birthright, he arrogantly threw a paternity test in my face.
"You've had my life for eighteen years. Isn't it about time you gave it back? If you know what's good for you, you'll leave on your own.
"Don't think I'm one of those pathetic heirs from those 'real versus fake heir' trope novels. I got my acceptance letter to Kingsley University this year."
