The story
In the tenth year of their marriage, Ava Caldwell discovers intimate photos of her husband, Mark Harrison, with the new intern, Chloe, on his phone. The pictures also show Mark and Chloe at an amusement park with Ava's son, Leo, looking like a perfect family. Ava hides the photos, determined to protect the reputation of the law firm they built together. But when Chloe, representing the defendant in a case Ava is prosecuting, wins using Ava's own case file, Ava realizes Mark gave Chloe her entire strategy. Humiliated and betrayed, Ava receives a text from Mark inviting her to Chloe's celebration, certain she won't come. Ava arrives at the restaurant, where she overhears Mark and her colleagues belittling her, and her own son saying Chloe is nicer than her. Confronting them, Ava asserts her authority as a partner, causing the guests to flee. Left with Mark and Chloe, she faces Mark's fury, but stands her ground, recalling the sacrifices she made to build the firm.
