The Price of His Perfection

Married to Julian for five years, Samantha has never truly been alone with him. Vivian, an "exclusive handler" trained by Julian's late mother, runs every detail of his life under a strict Life Optimization Protocol, from boardroom deals to the fabric of his underwear. When Samantha slaps her husband's favorite, she is banished to a desolate mountain retreat for three months to reflect on her mistakes.

Back in the car, Julian pins her against the window, only for the partition to roll down and Vivian to calmly ask whether they should use the ultra-thin tonight or the morning-after pill. The opened wrapper goes back into her purse, and Julian insists Vivian is merely carrying out his mother's dying wish. Samantha's fingers brush the divorce agreement already in her coat pocket.

At the villa, Vivian punches in the security code, draws Julian's bath, and climbs into the couple's bed in one of Samantha's silk nightgowns. Julian shoves Samantha aside, and every shred of hope turns to ash.
