The story
A young man's Lunar New Year trip turns into a nightmare when his girlfriend, Sarah, drags him back to the black-market factory he escaped four years ago. The operation is run by women, and its Boss is his own biological sister, the woman he faked his death to flee.
Sarah has gambling debts and three days to pay, so she sells him, slashing his face to stop him charming anyone into helping him. At the gates, Red, a woman he once knew, fails to recognise his ruined features. When his sister's car arrives, he throws himself at it, but his bloodied mouth cannot form her name, and Red nearly drowns him in a barrel of filth for offending the Boss.
Now limp and voiceless, he is declared useless. Red asks how he should be disposed of.
Opening
For our Lunar New Year trip, my girlfriend, Sarah, booked us on an international tour.
As soon as the plane touched down, she coaxed me onto a shuttle bus.
We drove for two days and two nights. As the scenery became eerily familiar, my body started to tremble uncontrollably.
This was the very hellhole I had escaped from four years ago.
