The story

Aria Blackwood returns from a business trip to find her brother Jasper's pregnant fiancée, Jade, already installed in the house — and in Aria's own sunlit room. Jade wears Aria's pajamas, rummages through her gifts, and has Aria's belongings scattered across the bed and floor. Jasper, dismissive and glued to his phone, orders Aria to move downstairs because the room suits Jade's pregnancy.

When Aria protests, Jade plays the frightened innocent, and Jasper turns on his sister, pushing her out and declaring that Jade may live wherever she likes. Aria sees through the sweet voice and the deliberate touch of Jade's belly, and notices the gift boxes turned so their price codes show. Her parents, away preparing the engagement, only send money and ask her to endure.

With her room taken and her brother changed, Aria must decide how to stand her ground against a sister-in-law who hides her schemes behind tears.

Opening

My two-faced sister-in-law manipulated my brother to steal my property.

She even used her unborn child as a threat, saying if she didn't get the house, she'd have an abortion.

My brother kept telling me to give in for the sake of the child.

Why should I? You're just an adopted son!

My brother got a girl pregnant out of wedlock. She's already three months along, and the girl is crying and making a fuss, so they have no choice but to prepare for the wedding.

My brother, Jasper Blackwood, is a not-so-bright playboy, at least that's what I've always thought.
